Joanne
Murphy and four of her colleagues from Deeny’s Pharmacy, Downpatrick, N.
Ireland have taken ‘RunningForHarry’ fundraising to a whole new level!
They have signed up to run
the Belfast City Marathon on 7th May 2012 as a relay team. In a bid
to raise as much money and awareness for brain cancer research they are raising
money in lots of unique and novel ways.
With the approval of ‘Medicare
Pharmacy Group’, Joanne and her fellow runners will don their ‘RunningForHarry’
polo shirts and collect money at work in their very own 'Fundraising Friday' event. Posters, balloons and collection buckets welcomed customers on Friday
who donated generously to this worthwhile cause.
Some would say that this
goes above and beyond the normal fundraising efforts taken by marathon runners!
However, for Joanne this is clearly just the start!
‘We also have a number of other small fundraisers
planned such as a pub quiz, coffee morning, raffle and a local non school uniform day which will all collectively go towards our teams collection’ said Joanne.
Below are a collection of
photographs taken from the first 'Fundraising Friday' at Deeny’s Pharmacy.
